In solidarity with the trucking industry and its drivers, who have given so much to support Wreaths Across America (WAA) and its mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach, WAA is proud to announce joining the Maine Motor Transportation Association (MMTA).
Founded in 1946, the MMTA has been a strong voice within the Trucking Industry. The MMTA will not only continue to support the main mission of WAA but also play a critical role in assuring that Wreaths Across America’s Mobile Education Exhibit and its driver ambassadors will stay industry compliant and safe while on America’s highways as it tours the country.
In addition to partnering with the MMTA, Graig Morin, Co-Founder and President of Brown Dog Carriers and Logistics, has also stepped up to donate and provide third-party industry administrative and fleet safety services to support WAA’s Mobile Education Exhibit.
“Brown Dog Carriers has been committed to the Wreaths Across America mission for each of the five years our company has been in business,” said Graig Morin, Co-Founder and Owner of Brown Dog Carriers. “What started as one load of respect to Mass, has grown into at least five loads across New England and to Arlington. We are also volunteer location coordinators for five cemeteries in Biddeford, Maine, laying roughly 3,300 veterans’ wreaths in our community on WAA day. When the opportunity came up to help WAA with their safety and compliance, it was a no brainer. At Brown Dog Carriers we pride ourselves on safety and I am proud to offer our services to WAA and help move the mission forward safely.”
“Wreaths Across America is grateful for this generous donation of time and talent and would like to acknowledge this act of generosity in support of our nation’s veterans and the mission Remember, Honor, and Teach,” said Don Queeney, WAA’s Director of Transportation and the Mobile Education Exhibit.
Each December with the help of hundreds of volunteer trucking companies and professional drivers participating in the WAA Honor Fleet, we honor our nation's fallen through wreath laying ceremonies at more than 3,000 participating locations across the United States. The Honor Fleet is made up of transportation/trucking industry partners who donate equipment, fuel, and drivers’ time to haul veterans’ wreaths to WAA participating locations across the nation.
