Before getting to The Big Party in The Big Easy, let's dispense with the boring boilerplate…

On July 23rd at the historic Degas House in New Orleans, trucking media company RadioNemo is hosting an evening to celebrate its new FASTPORT studio. As it has always done, the company will be assembling a diverse coalition of sponsors, partners, and friends to create an event reflecting both its past and present. They have designed it all to set a course for its future. This “ribbon cutting ceremony” will be complete with food, drink, and entertainment from 6 to 10 PM at 2306 Esplanade Avenue.

You're invited--now RSVP at weekends@radionemo.com!

Okay, now we’ll tell you what is really going down in The Crescent City.

The hippest, most irreverent radio road gang in trucking is blowing it out with an evening defying expectations and with something for everyone, including bourbon and gumbo. In other words, RadioNemo is throwing a party that looks just like its rapid-fire programming.

A bourbon tasting, cocktails from award-winning bartender Gabriel Santana during the Tales of the Cocktail week, andouille sausage gumbo and potato salad New Orleans style, and one of the city’s most thrilling musical happenings, The Coven. All of it on a summer night at the historic Edgar Degas House, starting at 6 PM under the oaks of beautiful Esplanade Avenue. Until 10 PM, it’ll be a deep-fried spiritual convergence situated right between the world-famous French Quarter and sprawling City Park.

Did we mention that former White House Celebrity Chef Marti Mongiello will attend with some Presidential recipes in hand? Or how about the presence of ATA’s Workforce Heroes truck alongside the studio? Did you know that two of our three hosts might join the band onstage?

You’re reading this, so you bet your ass you’re invited. Come meet the folks who have been making all this happen.

Broadcasting live on iHeart, YouTube, Facebook, Audacy, and its own website, RadioNemo’s an amazing cast of characters worthy of 70’s scifi/trucking adventure. Hosted by a bongo-playing-wise-old-wizard (legendary trucking radio host Dave Nemo,) a pyrotechnic-tossing-insurrectionist-pilot (Jimmy Mac,) and a wisecracking-gorgeous-gal co-pilot/navigator (singer/songwriter Lindsay Lawler,) they’ve gotten two flagship shows (Nemo Nation and Road Gang Radio) airborne with another (We Should Write) ready to launch the same day as the party.

In less than two months, RadioNemo has welcomed almost 200 individual guests on its new platform, and we’ve only turned the engine over. Transportation industry insiders, upstart up-and-coming trucking influencers, passionate veteran advocates, celebrated authors, hot new country acts, and supply-chain-voices you’ve never heard before are making their way onto the air. Dig this: they’re doing from the place where trucking radio had its start. New Orleans is where the action began with WWL’s The Road Gang featuring Dave Nemo. It is now where it has returned.

Those three hosts are surrounded and supported by a madcap mechanic shop of whiz kids.

Are they nearly all under 40? In fact, a bunch of them are under 30. Crackerjack studio producers Phone Master Dre (Andre Thibodeaux) and Matison with a T (Matison LeBlanc), ubiquitous associate producer Turtle (Tarrah Garis), mad-scientist sound designer/programming coordinator Clare Marie, and whirling-dervish sales czarina Donna Howell have somehow managed to keep the whole thing going despite being asked to do the near-impossible.

They took one of the biggest voices in trucking radio from one platform onto multiple outlets in six weeks without missing a beat. What did you do with your May/June?

It was newly appointed General Manager Nick Dimeo who made it all possible. He sits in the center of all, having successfully plotted a course that continues to unfold and add platforms at a growing pace. His early efforts forged partnerships with trucking association OOIDA and workforce tech company FASTPORT that secured further content and a new studio. Dimeo’s future plans include live video streaming, new partners, new content, and an approach to broadcasting that responds to the rapid pace at which the transportation industry moves. Not only has he been doing all that, but he did while corralling the lunacy described above.

Yeah, Nick is under 40 as well.

Something big is brewing in The Big Easy. Trucking is about everything, and so is RadioNemo. With that in mind, we thought we’d throw a party that reflects just that. Come and take a drink from the fountain of youth–or at least a sip of bourbon–at The Degas House and join us at the start of something big.
